Last evening at the Berwick Lions Hall, AVCC members and guests heard from 7 applicants for the AVCC Agriculture Innovation Accelerator Award.
This $30,000 prize package of cash and in-kind services serves as a "hand up" for an innovative idea in agriculture in the Annapolis Valley. The winner is Integrated HACCP Solutions Inc. Windsor, Nova Scotia. Douglas Armour, Programmer said "the award is going to help us along immensely. We look forward to repaying the kindness we have been shown and look forward to serving in the valley."
Other applicants included, Wolfville Farmers Market 2 Go, Novagreen East, Colibri Software, Cogmagun Poultry, Horton Ridge Malt & Grain, and Midgard Insects Farms Inc.
Chamber President Jeremy Lutes said, "this award is the only on of its' kind in Atlantic Canada and we are proud of the business community support to help make it happen."
AVCC represents over 400 businesses in Kings County and Eastern Annapolis County.
