The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce welcomes the Federal Government's renewed pledge to reduce the small business tax rate from 10.5 to 9 per cent. The AVCC was also pleased to hear that the Federal Government will not be moving forward with proposed measures to limit business owners' access to the Lifetime Capital Gains Exemption.

Jeremy Lutes, president of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce said "the AVCC undertook significant efforts to ensure our members were informed of the potential impacts of the Federal Government's tax reform proposals and that our members' concerns were heard in Ottawa. We are pleased the Government of Canada has acted upon some of these comments and concerns. We will continue to monitor developments related to the tax reform proposals, as they are refined, and look forward to working with local Members of Parliament to promote a strong Annapolis Valley economy."

The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce represents nearly 400 businesses and professionals in the Annapolis Valley.
