Annapolis Valley, N.S., April 11, 2016
On April 7, members of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive met with the Kings County Warden, Deputy Warden, and CAO. During this meeting AVCC was informed of a budget proposal being brought forward to the April 14 County of Kings Council meeting that would lower commercial tax rates by two cents per $100 of assessment.
The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce supports this decrease in commercial rates and encourages Councilors to vote in favor of this reduction.
President of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce, Paul DesBarres, says “We are pleased the County of Kings is considering reducing taxes on businesses. If passed, it will show a real desire to help support current businesses and provide an additional incentive for new ones to move to the area.”
The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce represents nearly 400 businesses and their employees, from Hantsport to Lawrencetown.
