Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased with funding accounced to twin Highway 101

Kentville, NS- The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce (AVCC) is pleased to have funding confirmed for the twinning of Highway 101 from Three Mile Plains to Falmouth, Hants County.

Treasury Board President and Kings Hants MP Scott Brison announced the $34.5 million dollars toward the $69 million dollar project which will include widening the Windsor Causeway.

President Jeremy Lutes stated, “After advocating for many years for further twinning on Highway 101, this is welcome news. We have known for many years the traffic counts on Highway 101 definitely warrant twinning, not only for safety but for commerce as well. ”

This next section to be twinned will see a fully twinned highway from Halifax to Hortonville.

AVCC represents over 400 business members and their staff in Kings County and Eastern Annapolis County.
